Happy Holidays!

Journal Entry: Wed Dec 16, 2009, 12:27 PM

Howdy all!

I know I've been sadly absent from dA for a while now. I've had a bunch of commissions (thank you all so much!) and I've been trying to keep up. I'm heading back home next week through the new year, so I won't be around until after that. However, I am looking forward to getting back into dA in January.

I miss you all and hope you have a wonderful holiday season!

If you would like to get a hold of me, you can email me at brandidunn@gmail.com. (I will have some email access through the next few weeks). Cheers!

A Confession

Journal Entry: Fri Oct 2, 2009, 7:37 AM

It's been plaguing my mind the last few days, so I felt I should let you all know what's up.

Ever since I've been back from Texas, I've been in a constant state of trying to catch up on my normal routine. There's only a few problems with that.

1. Life doesn't wait for you to catch up (as is apparent from my 454 deviations and 207 messages still left). My progress is a lot slower than I'd like because I still have to do stuff I would be doing anyways. Which leads me to...

2. I'm constantly adding new projects. I bite off a lot, even more that my big mouth can chew. Having looming projects (especially with tight deadlines) can sometimes kill my creativity. It's something I'm working on, but in the meantime it's a real issue for me.

So what does that mean? Basically, it means that I need to rearrange some priorities and shift some schedules. Kicking in the Trapdoor will have to take the back burner (which makes me sad, but I don't know how else to manage it). I'm not abandoning it, I just won't be able to release episodes weekly. They'll be as frequent as possible, but with the holiday season fast approaching, things are filling up.

That being said, I want to send out a huge THANK YOU to the folks that have been commissioning me recently. It means more to me than I can express. I AM OPEN FOR COMMISSIONS to any of those that haven't started to get in the holiday mindset yet. I'd love to work with you.

I'm also looking to start selling some cards (including Christmas cards) as well as prints to those that might be interested. Many of my newer works will be to that purpose (especially until Christmas).

Thank you all for being a huge support structure. It's such a blessing to have such a great community to be a part of.

Back in California

Journal Entry: Thu Sep 17, 2009, 7:06 AM

Home Again

I finally made it back home (though I wasn't so sure I would with the last part of that flight.) My grandmother's service was nice and it was good to see people. Being back, I find myself out of practice with my routine, so it may be a bumpy couple of days as things settle back in. (Having over 700 messages/deviations doesn't help either. ;) )

Kicking in the Trapdoor

Unfortunately, I didn't have the access to Photoshop that I was hoping to on the trip, so the next installment will take me a few days. But after that one's up, I'm hoping to be back to the Monday release schedule. Thank you for the continued support.

In the meantime, I'll put up another Phantom pic I had in the wings.

Absence

Journal Entry: Thu Sep 3, 2009, 7:53 AM

Hey all.

I just wanted you to be aware that my time on dA will be greatly cut back for a while. My grandmother passed away last night and in the near future I'll be making the trek back to Texas for the funeral. I'll be staying for undetermined period and while I'm gone I'm unsure of how accessible dA will be.

Kicking in the Trapdoor

I did however want to thank you all again for the support you've shown on my new comic. It's my intention to post them weekly (normally on Mondays). But since I'm likely to be unavailable and some of ya'll are likely to be celebrating Labor Day, I figured I'd kick off the holiday weekend with the second episode. Thanks again, ya'll rock!

A special thanks to all that comment and fav while I'm away. I'll try to get back to you when I can, but in the meantime I really appreciate it!

Hummingbird Feature

And how about some extra feature love, just for good measure. My grandmother loved hummingbirds.

Before I start off on anything else, I wanted ya'll to know that I'm offering a special,

:bulletpurple::bulletpurple::bulletpurple: $20 Color Bust Portraits :bulletpurple::bulletpurple::bulletpurple:

If you want your favorite OC/persona done up like this:

Just send me a note! I look forward to painting more characters. :D

And one to other things. :iconodogoo: tagged me, and while I normally don't partake in these sorts of things, I figured I'd give it a go.

10 Facts About Me

1. In the last two years, I’ve gone from despising to enjoying on a regular basis: fried eggs, brussels sprouts, asparagus, and cayenne.

2. When I was 5, I wanted to be a vampire when I grew up.

3. I love to play dress-up. It’s led to adventures in LARPing, ren faires and random photo shoots in my apartment.

4. My hair currently touches my mid-shin when down, but is normally in a braid for functionality (so it reaches mid-thigh).

5. I played flute from grade 6 – 10, but when they wouldn’t let me march piccolo I switched to bari sax (which was much more fun).

6. The only drug I’ve ever partaken in is alcohol (which I don’t often). And yes, that means I’ve never smoked a cigarette. I’m like a prude or something.

7. Even as a child of the 80’s, I never owned a console growing up. When we got our Wii last year, it was my first one.

8. For a large part of my life, I’ve ridden Western. I would have competed in barrel-racing if I had actually owned my own horse. I really miss it.

9. I’ve been a Phantom fan for 15 years now (I’m so old), ever since I picked up a copy of ALW’s OLC recording from our public library. And I even own/am perfectly happy to watch the Julian Sands version.

10. I have a condition called Scotopic Sensitivity Syndrome [link] which makes it very difficult for me to read (especially black text on white page). So I don’t do it as often as I would otherwise.

BONUS FACT: I don't believe in tagging people, so I'll just say if you want to share 10 facts about yourself, feel free to do so!

I've got tentacles on the brain. Do you?
