It's so nice to be able to do something for :icontheme-of-the-week: again. This theme was 'Us Against the World'.

I knew right off that I wanted to do something Phantom-based (the first thought was something Raoul/Christine) but as of late I find myself drawn more to this pairing. I blame :iconmy-daroga:. Yep...all her fault.

It started as a speed painting, but ended up taking a long while. I wanted to have it mostly back lit, which is not a strong point of mine. But it was a good study over all.

I used stock by :iconfelixdeon: [link] as reference. His work (and stock) are absolutely stunning with a strong sense of classicism. It makes me sad that I'm an atrocious oil painter.

I understand the appeal of the pair. They really are made for each other in a lot of ways, complimenting and balancing. I'm please you like the piece. :)
