Jules - Nerf Gun Mod by bdunn1342 Jules - Nerf Gun Mod by bdunn1342
A Nerf Nite Finder gun that was disassembled and reworked with acrylic paint, polymer clay and a few cameos. It still works just fine, even the 'laser' sight.

More stuff that was done a while ago. I'm not sure why it never got posted. The brainchild of ~JavanDrakar and I, we're slowly decorating the small library nook of the apartment with a Steampunk/Lovecraft theme.

The other completed pistol can be found here: [link]

Here is a detailed view of Lucy's thumb. [link]

If you are interested in commissioning a similar pistol, please note me.

If you like this, please consider commissioning me. [link]

I found the same nerf gun at a flea market today. Mine isn't going to look this awesome though.

How did you go about attaching the polymer clay pieces?

I use epoxy. I've found it to be a strong bond.

I don't, sorry. But I'll try to give a basic overview.

A friend dissembles it for me and I put a base coat of black spray paint on it. I use metallic craft acrylics and a dry brush technique for the refinishing and then my friend puts it back together (because I'm terrible with the technical side of things). I paint on finishing details and seal it.

I think you can do most of it without taking it apart though, if that would be easier. Sorry I can't be of more help.

Thank you for the kind words. The extra details (save the purchased cameo) were made of polymer clay and painted with acrylics.

That emblem with the white woman, was that a piece of jewelery? I have been looking for those ivory ladies often.

It is a plastic cameo that I bought at Micheal's. You might be able to find them in the jewelry section, or with the specialty buttons. Good luck! :D

That is a sweet Nitefinder paint job! While you had it apart, did you happen to remove/cut out the air restrictors/limiters and/or replace the spring? Both mods are REEEEEALY easy and would put some "jack under the hood" rather than just being an AMAZING piece of art.

Thank you kindly! We didn't change any of the workings on Jules, but did modify Gungnir's cylinder. I think there was concern over getting it back together since those two were the first attempts.

Although it's not as inherently elegant (in my opinion) I can certainly add other elements (like the curl) for a bit more than base cost. It will mean that those elements will be more delicate depending how rough you're going to be with the finished piece. But absolutely a do-able thing. :) I look forward to seeing what sort of details you would be interested in.

Yeah, I like the Victorian vibe of the gun.

Why is there a bottle with "Lucy Westenra" written on it?

In our last apartment we had a reading nook that we were decorating in a Steampunk/Lovecraft/Victorian horror theme. Lucy's thumb [link] is meant as a part of larger specimen collection. It also included this [link] and a few relic projects that were in progress.
